The Seventeenth ACTR Olympiada<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

of Spoken Russian <\/strong>(Heritage North)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

will take place\u00a0on\u00a0Saturday, June 20<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a012 PM<\/strong>\u00a0at KidzHOME. There will be contests and quiz games with prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2009, the editorial board of the literary magazine for Russian-speaking children Malenkaya Kompaniya<\/em>, together with the American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR)<\/a>, conducts annual Olympiadas of Spoken Russian for heritage speakers (Heritage North region). ACTR material for children who have just started learning Russian can be found here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong> Children from 6 to 18 can take part in the contest (there are various levels depending on the age, whether the child studies Russian at home or at school, and other factors). There are three exam boards: Oral Speech, Reading, and Civilization. Each participant is evaluated by all three boards. Rules and materials for the preparation are here<\/a><\/strong> (in Russian).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
